Why: Because of our lifelong love of MV Agusta
We would like to invite all owners of MV Agusta motorcycles to join us on the weekend of Friday the 30th of November to Sunday the 2nd of Dec 2018 in New Plymouth for the annual NZ MV Meetup!
Note: We may have a support Ute from Tauranga to New Plymouth for gear/etc – TBC
The (preliminary) itinerary is as follows:
Friday the 30th of November
Arrive into New Plymouth as a Group – New Plymouth location TBC.
Upper North Island members
Auckland – Meet 9:30am, leaving approx 10am Friday morning to ride to Te Awamutu. Meeting point TBA.
Tauranga/Rotorua – Meet at BP The Lakes, Tauriko at 10am Friday morning, leaving shortly there after to Friday morning to ride to Te Awamutu.
Meet at Te Awamutu approx lunch time for a ride down SH3 to New Plymouth, if you have never been on this road – you are in for a treat. Fantastic twisties leading onto the beautiful west coast road. Te Awamutu -> New Plymouth is approx 200kms or 2.5-3 hours (via Google Maps). Auckland group, leaving approx 10am Location TBC.
Lower North Island and South Island members, Wellington people, meet at Z Petrol Station in Johnsonville approx 1pm on Friday and aim to head off shortly thereafter to ride up to New Plymouth via Whanganui. Note: Palmerston North to New Plymouth is 230kms or 2:45-3:15 hours.
Late arvo/evening drinks and meals in New Plymouth at a suitable location. TBA.
Saturday the 1st of December:
Breakfast – suitable location – TBC
Group ride. Leaving New Plymouth, we ride up Mount Taranaki to the North Egmont Visitor Centre for photos (hopefully the day is clear), then proceed down the west coast via Opunake to Stratford, then on to “The Republic of Whangamomona” for a late lunch. Don’t forget to bring your passports to get them stamped – really! This ride will give us amazing views, round Mount Taranaki and then some super twisty roads up and over several saddles into Whangamomona – an iconic pub and stop for motorcyclists. The ride back to New Plymouth is approx 1:30mins the direct route, we may take a less direct route 🙂
Late arvo/evening drinks and meals at a suitable location – TBC
Sunday the 2nd of December:
Breakfast – suitable location – TBC.
Ride back to home following the same route as we came in.

T-Shirts:
Once again, we will be doing a limited run of good quality t-shirts to commemorate the weekend, this year we are looking to get them embroidered given enough runway. Shirt design to follow. TBC.
